The presentation examines Latvia’s cybersecurity landscape within a geopolitical context—considering the region's location, international obligations, and the resource constraints and pressures faced by a small nation, as reflected in recent regional incidents. It demonstrates that the majority of real-world challenges—such as cybercrime, social engineering (including smishing), and the human factor—are not unique to Latvia or the Baltic states but affect organizations worldwide, regardless of the geopolitical situation. The presentation offers a balanced perspective, distinguishing between issues specific to our situation and those driven by global trends, and concludes with practical recommendations on how organizations can strengthen their resilience through tailored training content and role-based learning aligned with each organization's actual risk profile.
